Lori Neighbor
Lori is a breath of fresh air! This Woman of Value was born and raised in Redding, California. She has two son's, one daughter and three grandchildren. Lori's mother was a gifted, anointed church organist who passed on her love of God and music to Lori. Both of Lori's sons serve on the church worship team. Together they have ministered in Guadalajara and in several outdoor locations around Lakeside. She has produced a couple of wonderful CD's which continue to usher in the Holy Presence of God! Lori is a pastor's granddaughter, and Pastor Gary's adored wife. Lori and Gary dated in high school, got married and have ministered extensively in Mexico since 2004. While living in the USA, they ministered together in California, Colorado and Kansas for 16 years. Gary was asked to pastor Abundant Life church in San Antonio Tlayacapan in 2006. After personally participating in the monthly Sisterhood Bible studies for women who attend Abundant Life Church, I learned about the many outreaches Lori has been involved in throughout her life. This post is to encourage you to personally take time to get to know Lori. Her children call her blessed, and so do I! Locally, Abundant Life Church serves Chapala,
Ajijic, Riberas del Pilar, Jocotopec, San Juan Cosalá, and surrounding communities. And
through our emphasis on missions, we serve communities throughout Mexico and
around the world. Abundant Life Church began in 2003 in the home of a local believer who believed that God wanted to meet and transform the English speaking community in the lakeside area. Soon a local fish market was purchased and our current building was built through a joint venture with the Assemblies of God USA department of missions and the Assemblies of God México. The church began Spanish language ministry in 2006 when our current pastor, Gary Neighbor, came. Since then, the church has grown to include children´s, youth and adult ministries in both English and Spanish. The church currently has 2 daughter churches in different municipalities giving supervision and ministry. Abundant Life Church has a heart for the lost and is always included in the list of churches highlighted by the denomination for her giving to missions. The Neighbor family 2019.
The Children's Ministry has impacted the pueblo of San Antonio by feeding the local kids solid food. This year the theme for VBS was entitled "Aleluia Fest" Ninety one kids and their families were there for the graduation. "Every Praise is to our God" Lori and Gary have been serving in Mexico since 2004. Pastor Gary's life long desire was fulfilled as Abundant Life Church got recognized for the impact they have in the mission field. We are blessed to be in the Presence of the Lord as Lori and her talented sons, Matthew and Joshua, and Neto and the rest of the praise team use their God given talents each Sunday. October 30, 2019 I attended new membership class. These are my notes on the core beliefs held by Abundant Life Church.
ReplyDelete1) ALL SCRIPTURE is the inspired word of God. “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness…” 2 Timothy 3:16
2) GOD – “The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel” (which means “God with us”) Matthew 1:28 “Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over…” Gen 1:26 The word trinity is not in scripture, but the Assemblies of God believe that the Father, Son and Holy Spirit is One. Jesus said in John 10:30: “I and the Father are one.”
3) MAN IS FALLEN – Mankind is in need of a Saviour. Our Father provided us a way through His Son Jesus, our Redeemer. “Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” John 14:6
4) SALVATION OF MAN - “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” Acts 2:38 “In the same way your Father in heaven is not willing that any of these little ones should perish.” Matt 18:14
5) SANCTIFICATION – Our assurance of our salvation is as we live “in the Spirit” and walk in obedience to the word of God. 1 Thess 4: 3-8
6) BAPTISM - The baptism of the Holy Spirit is initially evidenced by speaking in a heavenly language. "And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues." Mark 16:17 Also read: 1 Corin 12:18 - 13:10
7)DIVINE HEALING – We believe in the power of the Holy Spirit to heal. “Surely He took up our pain and bore our suffering, yet we considered Him punished by God, stricken by Him, and afflicted. But He was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on Him, and by His wounds we are healed.” Isaiah 53:4-5
8) GOD ESTABLISHED HIS CHURCH – “When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.” Acts 2:1 – His ways are not ours.

ReplyDelete9) FINANCIAL STEWARDSHIP – Abundant Life Church in Mexico operates off tithes and offerings. Mexican law changed in 1992 with a freedom to minister in Mexico as volunteers. The Pastors receive all the tithes and distributes funds to pay the staff, janitor, gas for the van, utilities. Funds are also set aside for an staff medical emergencies. Through offerings the church supports missions and special projects. Gary and Lori Neighbor Ministries is a non-profit 501(c3) so that USA citizens can get tax credit for donations.
10) RAPTURE – the word is not in the Bible, however, as taught in Revelation, the Assemblies of God Church believes that those “in Christ” will be caught up. Pre-Tribulation. “After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever.” 1 Thess 4:17
11) SECOND COMING – The church believes that at the end of the great tribulation Jesus will return and reign for 1,000 years.
12) FINAL JUDGEMENT – People who died in sin and other sinners will be judged. Those who remain in obedience to God’s will, are not judged.
13) NEW HEAVEN and NEW EARTH - Then I saw “a new heaven and a new earth,” for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them.” Revelation 21:1
14) BAPTISM IN WATER – The Assembly of God Church believes in full immersion baptism. “As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting on him. And a voice from heaven said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.” Matthew 3:16-17 – People do not come up out of the water when they are sprinkled.
15) COMMUNION – The Assembly of God Church takes communion together each month to remember what Jesus has done for us and in us. “Is not the cup of thanksgiving for which we give thanks a participation in the blood of Christ? And is not the bread that we break a participation in the body of Christ?” 1 Corinthians 10:16
16) STANDING AGAINST FALSE DOCTRINE – If the Assembly of God Church cannot find the teaching in the Bible, or if the word of God is corrupted by adding meaning to what God says, we stand against it.
